Shot blasting is done to deliver a robust texture to the surface of the pavers. In most cases only the top surface of the pavers is treated as the other sides are hidden when laid. The process involves forcing small beads of steel at high velocity using compressed air, during which the shots displaces small particles of concrete. The shots along with the small particles of concrete, falls on the floor. The shots are then recycled for further usage. The shots yield structural appearance to the pavers and also provide protection in wet conditions by its anti-slippery texture.
